The concept comes from Shutter Hub Founder and Creative Director, Karen Harvey, who says,

‘I love photography and what it can do; how it can connect people and help share stories, how it provides a different perspective and a means of escapism – and I love cars and driving for pretty much the same reasons!’

Embracing the power of photography in as many ways as possible, Karen has an extensive career as an award-winning photographer with an impressive portfolio of clients, commissions, and collaborations. Karen founded Shutter Hub to create a supportive community for other photographers and to provide a platform for the development of ideas and careers.

Shutter Hub delivers high quality projects and exhibitions across the UK and Europe, delivering portfolio reviews for photographers in the UK, US and Canada, and working with partners such as Alamy, Fujifilm and Photo Vogue.

AUTO PHOTO Awards are open for entry now, everyone can enter one image for free (and more if they choose) and the Shutter Hub team want to see as much variety and diversity in the images as possible.

Aside from the five individual category awards, there will be an exhibition of the winning and highly commended photographs, a book of the top 100 images will be produced by Shutter Hub Editions, and the winning images will be featured in Chicane magazine. Alongside these awards, a selection of images will win Highly Commended awards and exciting prizes selected by AUTO PHOTO Awards supporting partners The Drivers Collection, FastR, Motorsport UK and WXVE, with even more opportunities to be announced soon.

With five diverse categories, there’s opportunity and inspiration for every type of automotive photographer and enthusiast:

The world is changing, where do we go from here? It’s not all about EVs (but show us them too!), we want to see the integration of technologies, engine development, tuning and performance, sustainability in materials, resto-mods, hybrids, and ICEs too!

Cars as Art

There’s beauty in the build. From abstract images and macro details to super sleek lighting and cars on the street, this is the place to take your creativity to the max.

On track or off road, from circuit racing to rally cross, endurance to sprint, and drag to drift, we want to see Motorsport in all its glory.

Scenes and Styling

Show us the show cars, the super-charged super cars, the priceless classics, the drift beasts, the slammed and stanced, the ‘built not bought’ cars, and everything in between.

Car Culture

It’s about the people behind the wheel and under the hood. This is the place to big-up the clubs and communities, the lifestyle, locations, and looks.
