Beauty and The Beast has enchanted Disney film fans on its opening weekend – raking in £282m around the world.
It had the biggest ever opening weekend for a PG-rated film.
Beauty and the Beast marks Disney’s best opening for a live action remake yet – beating The Jungle Book, Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland.
To coincide, The House of Worth have launched Belle, a new fragrance for women inspired by the central character, played by Emma Watson, in Walt Disney’s adaptation of the classic tale “Beauty and the Beast”.
The fragrance is the creation of master perfumer, Honorine Blanc of Firmenich. The fragrance is centred around rose (the enchanted rose) a key component to the legend, and the central inspiration for a luxurious, feminine concoction. The scent is mixed with Rose de Mai from Grasse with aromatic woods and spicy pink peppers.
You can shy away from the insipid girliness (or old ladies smell) of rose, but teamed with grapefruit, bergamot and woodiness it gives a soft and subtle romantic scent, with a spicy kick.
The top notes combine: Green Pear, Grapefruit, Italian Bergamot, Redcurrant
Heart Notes: Pink pepper SFE, Bulgarian Rose, Pivoine Blanche, Rose Centifolia NP, Muguet
Base notes: Ambrette Seeds, Sleek Woods
The perfume is presented in the couture house’s exquisite octagonal weighty glass bottle, which is inscribed with the W for House of Worth.
The elegant bottle is topped with a sustainable wooden cap finished in metallic pearl and features the word “Belle” engraved in gold by master calligrapher Bernard Maisner.
The fragrance is packaged within a hollowed out book, taking its inspiration from Belle’s love of reading, and available in three colour-ways – ideal for avid Beauty & The Beast fans and collectors items.
It’s the first fragrance to be created and distributed by Akita Brands, with the aim of raising awareness of conscious beauty in the 21st Century and supporting global powerhouses with vegan, cruelty free and provenance-conscious beauty products.
