Cara Delevingne Brings Her Signature Style to Topshop

Cara Delevingne and Topshop have reunited, and the result feels like a welcome nod to the days when the model’s off-duty outfits inspired half the British high street.

The model and actor has launched her first co-designed collection with Topshop, creating a 16-piece capsule built around denim, relaxed tailoring and easy-to-layer basics. It is a natural partnership for Delevingne, whose relationship with the brand began in 2010. She later walked in its fashion shows and became the face of several campaigns.

There is some definite 2010s nostalgia here, but the collection is more grown-up than a straightforward throwback. Rather than recreating the skinny jeans, biker jackets and beanie hats associated with Delevingne’s early modelling days, the range gives her distinctive London style a smarter update.

Among the standout pieces is a pinstripe denim suit featuring a broad-shouldered blazer and matching wide-leg trousers. It looks polished without feeling too corporate and can easily be broken up and worn as separates.

The slim-fitting Ultimate Cara jeans are available in black and blue washes, offering an alternative to the oversized and barrel-leg denim that has dominated recently. Other statement pieces include a cropped denim trench jacket, wide-leg culottes and an asymmetric off-the-shoulder mini dress.

A draped denim maxi skirt takes the collection in a different direction, proving that denim does not have to mean another pair of jeans. Ribbed vests, open-back tops and long-sleeved T-shirts complete the capsule, giving shoppers simpler pieces to mix with the more distinctive designs.

There is a strong emphasis on clothes that can be styled in different ways. The pinstripe blazer works with its matching trousers, jeans or over a dress, while the cropped trench could be worn with almost anything. It feels like a collection designed for real wardrobes rather than a set of outfits that only work together.

Prices range from £26 to £95, with sizes running from UK 6 to 18. The pieces were also developed using Topshop’s circular design criteria, including consideration of recycled materials and durability.

The Topshop x Cara Delevingne collection is available through Topshop and ASOS.
