Some like it hot, some like it cold and it seems there is an increasing appetite for the latter, with research showing that sales of iced coffee have soared by a remarkable 44% in the last two years alone in the UK.
With the majority of iced coffee purchases being made from convenience stores and the like, Diageo – the owners of the Baileys brand – have recently launched two new iced coffee choices to be sold in cans, priced at £1.90 each. Known as Baileys Iced Coffee, there will be two different varieties sold in 200ml cans. The Latte or Mocha-styled drinks will feature a mix of Arabica and Robusta iced coffee with milk, spirit and a flavour of Baileys Irish Cream. The ABV rating for the drinks is just 4%.
Awareness of the new drinks will be raised by sponsorship of TV reality show ‘Made in Chelsea’ for the next three series, beginning on 20 March.
