If you are looking to purchase a second-hand car, read on to discover the used cars that suffer the fewest breakdowns, to help you choose your next motor more wisely.
An annual reliability index conducted by Warrantywise has named the top ten most reliable used cars in the UK, with the Honda Jazz topping the list.
Warrantywise compiled the list using data from 131,000 warranty plans between 2021-2022 and included cars that are less than 10 years old but that are outside of the manufacturer’s warranty.
Of the top ten most reliable motors, six were Japanese, three were from South Korea and one was French.
The Honda Jazz claimed the top spot as the most reliable used car, with a reliability score of 93.7/100 and an average repair cost of £424.31. In second place was the Mazda 2, with the Toyota Auris claiming third place.
At the other end of the scale, the Land Rover Range Rover has been deemed the most unreliable used car in Britain, due to the frequency and cost of repairs.
With the highest repair costs being £23,890, and the frequency of repairs impacting the general reliability, the Range Rover obtained an overall score of 20.2/100.
Land Rover takes up two of the bottom three positions, with its previous generation Range Rover, and the Range Rover Sport coming in at first and third least dependable, respectively.

“The opinion that they should be very reliable, for the price that customers pay for them, is quite a popular one, and this evaluation of our data is helpful for us to guide customers the right way when wanting to make a large purchase on a luxury car, like a Porsche.”
